Shruti Haasan

Shruti Haasan (born 28 January, 1986) is an Indian actress, playback singer, and musician who predominantly works in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi cinema. She is the daughter of actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika Thakur.

After working as a child playback singer and making a brief appearance in *Hey Ram* (2000), she made her adult acting debut in the Hindi action thriller *Luck* (2009). She appeared in *Anaganaga O Dheerudu* (2011) and *7 Aum Arivu* (2011), winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South. Her other film roles include *Gabbar Singh* (2012), *3* (2012), *Balupu* (2013), *Yevadu* (2014), *Race Gurram* (2014), *Srimanthudu* (2015), *Premam* (2016), *Krack* (2021), *Waltair Veerayya* (2023), *Veera Simha Reddy* (2023), *Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire* (2023), and *Coolie* (2025). She also appeared in the Hindi films *D-Day* (2013) and *Welcome Back* (2015), as well as the American action drama series *Treadstone* (2019).

She composed the soundtrack for *Unnaipol Oruvan* (2009) and fronted the alternative rock band The Extramentals. She has received two Filmfare Awards South, including Best Actress – Telugu for *Race Gurram*, and multiple South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) for acting and playback singing.
