Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt (born 15 March 1993) is a British-Indian actress and producer who works predominantly in Hindi cinema. She appeared as a child artist in Tanuja Chandra's psychological thriller *Sangharsh* (1999), portraying the younger version of Preity Zinta's character. She made her adult leading debut in Karan Johar's teen romantic comedy-drama *Student of the Year* (2012), earning a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Her breakthrough came with Imtiaz Ali's road drama *Highway* (2014), for which she won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress.

Bhatt became an established and commercially bankable actor through films including *2 States* (2014), *Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania* (2014), *Kapoor & Sons* (2016), and Gauri Shinde's coming-of-age drama *Dear Zindagi* (2016). She won Filmfare Awards for Best Actress for her performances in Abhishek Chaubey's crime drama *Udta Punjab* (2016), Meghna Gulzar's espionage thriller *Raazi* (2018), Zoya Akhtar's musical drama *Gully Boy* (2019), and Karan Johar's romantic comedy-drama *Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani* (2023). Her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's biographical period crime drama *Gangubai Kathiawadi* (2022) earned her the National Film Award for Best Actress and another Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

Bhatt founded the production company Eternal Sunshine Productions, producing and starring in Jasmeet K. Reen's dark comedy *Darlings* (2022) and Vasan Bala's action thriller *Jigra* (2024), and producing Richie Mehta's investigative eco-thriller series *Poacher* (2024). She made her pan-Indian debut as Sita in S. S. Rajamouli's *RRR* (2022), starred as Isha in Ayan Mukerji's fantasy action film *Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva* (2022). She made her Hollywood debut in Tom Harper's spy thriller *Heart of Stone* (2023), and starred in the action film *Alpha* (2026).
